Hotarubi no Mori e Review/Thoughts

I’m gonna try to keep this one kind of short since it is a short film and I don’t have much to say about it. It may be possible that I should have talked about this film a little while ago but now I am so better later than never. Okay not a while ago, about a week or two ago. Anyway point is I don’t really have much thought on it. Alright I’ll just go into it:

Hotarubi no Mori e Thoughts

So Hotarubi no Mori e is a pretty short film (about 44 minutes long) directed by Takahiro Omori. For the sake of a small plot summary that doesn’t spoil anything is a little girl (Hotaru) gets lost in this forest  and meets a spirit (Gin) who wears a mask as you can see in the picture above. They become friends and after Gin helps Hotaru leave the forest, she continues to visit him every summer in this forest. I don’t know if I would define this as a romance but it does have relationship/friendship stuff in it. I don’t know, that’s me trying to be more specific with plot and what the film is like. It’s good though, I don’t really have anything bad to say about it. I mean I didn’t really love the film it’s a nice little feels trip, the animation is beautiful, there are some cool visuals that make it look like a painting at times. I have to say, I am surprised by how much is told in a short film and it doesn’t feel rushed at all, it feels like a journey, a nice simple emotional journey. There is more to it than the two characters becoming friends but it would probably give away some things. I will be honest, I watched an AMV (Anime Music Video if you don’t know) that summed up the entire movie, it was very well made and had the emotion from the film conveyed pretty well in a 3 minute video. It was 3 minutes and it told the story of a 40 minute movie. The film is still good I’m not saying it should be shorter because length is good and develops the two characters in a small amount of time. It’s simple, it’s fun, it’s emotional, it’s good. Like I said, I don’t have much to say about it, it was a good emotional film, however it didn’t make me cry as I was thinking might happen but oh well it was still good. The music was beautiful, I will say that before I stop talking here. Okay that’s it for the review so END.

I just wanted to make a short quick post because I kept forgetting to talk about this film. There are a few anime movies I might watch and talk about here, I’m just running out of things to talk about as of recent. I thought about making a second Gintama post but it will probably be the same stuff as the first post I made about that one. I’ll probably still do that. E3 is coming up in a few weeks so I do want to make a post about that, each presentation, I’ll make a post. I will make a small post possibly about what I want to see at E3 or what I liked about last E3 conference. If you’re confused about what I’m talking about it’s the Electronic Entertainment Expo where new video games are announced. I’m sure everyone who reads my stuff knows, but just in case. There was one point where I didn’t know what it was, that’s kinda weird to think about, someone having to explain it to me at one point. I think I was in 6th grade. Well anyway, just some ideas on what to expect from me next. I started playing through Dark Cloud as well and I’m enjoying it a lot more than I was expecting, I thought it was going to be a different game so I was surprised but I love it so far, and wish I played it before but it’s awesome so far but yeah that’s another thing I’ll talk about one day while I try to figure out my life and all that… Alright that’s it, thanks for reading, hope you have a wonderful day, and goodbye for now! Too many commas but whatever goodbye!
